Gas Giants Press Release

I would like to officially announce that our group has changed its name from PHAROAHS 2000, to GAS GIANTS. We have secured the rights to the name GAS GIANTS, and have begun to use it as of July 10, 1999. We have also entered negotiations with Atomic Pop, an Internet based label, and are making plans to release our record titled "From Beyond the Back Burner" in September. Check out our new label at ATOMICPOP.COM.

We plan to re-launch our group as GAS GIANTS, and celebrate our impending National release with a concert at Cooperstown, Thursday August 12. The show is an Evening Star Production, and will feature performances by support acts Haggis and Pollen.

Our single "Quitter" will be available for the first time at the Aug. 12 show, on a special 4 song CD, as well as T-shirts featuring album-cover art.

The album will first be sold exclusively as a Digital Download (MP3 or Liquid Audio file) for one full month. Soon all records will be available this way, ours will be one of the first. Our official web-site will be on-line August 1, and will offer free MP3 files of at least two songs. The address is WWW.GASGIANTS.COM.

I am producing a CD compilation of local artists to be titled "URANUS PRESENTS: NEW AND USED VOL. 1", featuring Pollen, Haggis, Dead Hot Workshop, Mark Norman, Greg Simmons, Sonic Thrills, Satellite, The Robies, and more. It will be available by October, and for sale at our web-site and Phoenix area record stores.

We are scheduled to perform acoustic sets at Gordon Biersh in Tempe, Fri. July 23 and Fri. July 30, and appear at a private function for the AZ. Cardinals Fri. Aug. 6 in Flagstaff.

That's about it for now. Thanks everyone for your support.
