It’s a standard no one can live for.
There’s always someone better.
I don’t come close
To a story I was told.
A story handed down to us,
And we can never measure up.
It praises things that just aren’t there,
And yet they tell it everywhere.
A promise made, but never kept;
The one they break without regret.
The myth defeats us all, and then
They send you back to try again.
The story I was told
